dclegg: FWIW my current work laptop is a Dell Studio 1535,

this is the 1545 - probably the same build, but the motherboard (and thus all the bits and connections) has to be different for the i7's to fit

To be honest it's a pity they didn't hold this pricepoint as I was sitting on the fence as to whether to replace the wife's laptop - the keyboard appears to be dead, and while I could buy another Tosh keyboard, why would I at that price for a new i7 with LED screen?

Dulouz: I ordered one of these yesterday and now see that for the same price I could have a blu-ray rive included. What do you think my chances are of changing the order?

Got my Dell Studio with Blu-ray drive. Took 7 days which I though was pretty fast. Got the studio to replace my Latitude E5500. Still getting to grips with the different chassis.

I kept the Latitude under my bed as a weapon to use incase of burglars and the studio is no where as sturdy but oh so much faster.Laughing

I've finally replaced my Studio 1535 with a shiny new Macbook Pro, after putting up with it for 2 years. I've had numerous hardware failures with it, and was daily cursing some poor design decisions (such as no way to screw my external monitor's VGA connector, resulting in losing signal to it multiple times a day).

I initially brought the Studio in an effort to save money when purchasing a new development machine. I soon found out you get what you pay for, and regretted not ponying up the bucks to buy a more robust machine. I sincerely hope you have much better luck with your new toy.
