I did try to not format but it didn't really work so I thought to format it, I am kinda glad I did format it though coz some of the buttons of my computer didn't work etc but since I did format it the buttons work and I am very happy about it :D
Formatting is always the best thing to happen to an aging windows installation..I'd recommend u take a image of the current system so its easier for u to recover,in case of problems again
taking an Image means, cloning the drive contents to a file.It can either be the entire drive or any partition(s). The advantage is ,say u clone ur Windows drive. If anything happens to your windows installation you can restore ur computer back to the state when the image was taken..so u dont have to go thru the tedious and time consuming process of installing windows..
Basically when i clone what i normally do is (not necessarily in that order)
Install Windows Install all the then available updates. Install Antivirus and update it.. Install most needed apps like ms office, adobe acrobat etc etc and also update it if necessary
Then install the drive imaging utilty like acronis true image(www.acronis.com) or norton ghost
I'd recommend acronis since norton sucks...U have the option of cloning the image to bootable CD/DVD so u once windows decides to go kaput on u..u pop the DVD in and restore the image..The whole process of restoring usually takes about 30-45 minutes...
afterwards all u normally would have to is update all the applications if needed...
do I have to pay to get the acronis though? I am on the site and I can't find the free version coz I can't buy anything online coz I don't have a credit card
