Doesn't your school use the laptop in schools program for teachers? It works well.

No excuses for taking a weeks to get warranty parts from overseas. I often wonder if they only put in a parts order once or twice a month.
When I worked at a IT parts wholesaler, the parts we ordered privately from Aus would arrive THE NEXT DAY.
Doing Warranty repair work, on behalf of a well known manufacturer, we had to wait for them to supply the warranty parts, would usually take at least 1 month, often much longer.

Fast turnaround can be done, yet some Manufacturers just dont do what it takes , it takes only minimal effort
Its not the fault of the local techs, often not the fault of the NZ Branch of the manufacturer either.

Just a quick update on our issue with Lenovo support.
The laptop that we sent away for warranty repair back in May 2013, yes 2013, got returned to us on Monday 25/8/14!
They replaced the hard drive, mainboard & keyboard.
Nothing with the laptop except the standard form letter to say what work was done so no apology or anything.

So well done Lenovo, that repair only took 15 months!

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Would anyone out there have any ideas on a laptop manufacturer who does have a decent warranty in practice (ASUS maybe ?)
