I personally wouldn't buy that Pavillion as a business laptop.

The other 2 you linked to earlier are both basically the same

My favorites are, but you'll probably write these off as they have 13-14"
Lenovo X1
Surface Laptop 2
Dell XPS13

smaller than you wanted but with an external monitor makes up for it?

I need a laptop, not a complete computer lol while I'm working at home, it'll be used on the couch, in bed, in the table, at the kitchen bench... I don't want to have a computer screen on my knee too

From your initial requirements I was picturing a home office.

Just get a i5 15" , with SSD & 8GB RAM . All brands have good models & duds, thats a crap shoot .

If you want a 17" , just get one with similar spec. They arnt as popular so wont be as much choice, it will be heavier .

Pick a HP, Toshiba , Lenovo or Asus bus class & just buy it.

For what you are doing , there wont be alot of NOTICABLE difference in speed from one to the other model (assuming i5, SSD ,8Gb RAM) . The diiferences wont really show in basic spec sheet (display , kb, quality)

Get a bus class over a home class laptop . Spend some time de-crapifying it. They all come preloaded with manufacturers crap software & 3rd party crap software that they were paid to pre-install. (Bloatware)

Some have trackpads that are near unusable, so try before you buy if at all possible.

Note that they are (usually) designed to sit on a hard surface . Not your bed or couch: That can block the cooling fan intake

on some : Thats worth checking before you buy.

Lg gram 17 2019 16:10 1.3kg or 15 2018 16:9 1.1kg don't think there is a new model. Lightest on the planet yet very fast. Supposed to meet military grade strength but ymmv.

tried posting in your other thread before MM locked it...

in referance to the 8550U

They arent bad cpus.

My work machine has a 8350U that turbos to 3.6ghz. idles at 1.7.

at idle, it sips the battery and easily does a good 8 hour day.

When i need it to go, (i do alot of heavy number crunching etc) it flys.

Thermal throttling on it normally pulls down to about 3.0 which is still pretty solid.

Lenovo E580 from Lenovo directly - then you can upgrade the ram to 32GB, while getting a 15.6 1080p screen if you leave the processor at a i5-8250U it will cost around $1600 depending on what discount is available they have them all the time so if nothing decent wait a few weeks.
