benokobi: I was looking at this more like a more powerful MacBook with a extra port. Don't really need much else

I see in your signature you have an SP3, is this replacing it?

Kinda, Microsoft refunded my SP3 a few months ago (battery issues) and I've been waiting for these MacBooks since.

That's what put me off having a surface. Everyone I know with one has had to have them replaced due to issues like that

They replaced my original with another and it was worse than my first. CPU maxed on edge with absolutely nothing else going.

Glad I got a refund before I chucked it in the bin.

Dont mean to hijack the thread, but wanted to ask a quick question. What were the battery issues with SP3? My sister has one and I just want to make sure this issue doesnt exist on here. You can PM me if you prefer.

I ordered mine through Harvey Norman yesterday (custom order, wanted to increase the RAM to 16GB) and they said 4-5 weeks, which is the same as Apple is quoting on their own online store.

I imagine it'll be more like 2-3 weeks, judging from those who ordered earlier (from Apple) and have theirs already, despite them being told 4-5 weeks.

I do know that you can order through Noel Leeming already, and you'll get it "when it's ready".

Talked to a guy in JB Hi Fi on Queen St, Auckland this afternoon, and he said they have some touchbar models out back already, and were expecting more really soon (whatever that means). He said they were waiting on some Apple people to come and set up the instore display ones. They have the non-touch bar 13" avaliable & on display already.

Placed my order on the online store on Tuesday the 13th, USB-c AV Multiport arrived the next day. The Mac itself still says processing. It initially said ships 2-3 weeks when I placed the order, shortly after dropped down to 1-2, Says estimated arrival 28th - 03rd.

So far - fingers crossed - still no issues with my SP. Aside from the fact that it runs Windows not OSX...!
