I'm not sure what your point is. Surface Pro 3 isn't an Acer TravelMate C110
Tablet PC, that looks more like an HP Revolve to me.

My point is not what the Surface looks like. It is just that I heard the same "lie flat during a meeting so there is nothing between you" ten years ago. That is all.

Do you think it will be more successful than a Acer TravelMate C110 Tablet PC? I guess that's what you're getting at.

I've honestly heard of people buying these at retail because of the kickstand, which the Acer didn't have.

The question to ask yourself is would you spend your own money on one. I demo them and I bought one myself.

No, what I am getting at is that Microsoft is describing benefits of a tablet computer with the same words their marketing used ten years ago. It is a comment about the marketing, not about the devices.

If I had to spend my own money, yes this would be one to be seriously considered.

Love how thinner it is compared to the Surface Pro 2 and how much better the screen is (sorry for the reflection):

So the only problem i have found with the device so far is the missing wifi/bluetooth adaptor after coming out of a sleep which needs a restart of the tablet

Sounds like a patch is in the works to fix it however.  I am running into this problem a lot during the day at work needing a few reboots a day.
People in the US are getting around the problem by un-installing the wifi drivers and getting the shipped driver (Dated in may) to re-install and disabling the update in windows update.  However NZ devices etc don't have the old driver and shipped with the faulty one.

Have the same issue on the Surface Pro & Surface Pro 2 I have. it's a nightmare at times.

in the mean time you can also try "scan for new hardware changes" in device manager

I have a new driver and it is working much better, but we will continue to improve this until it is perfect.

It is interesting you are noticing a difference between NZ and US image, I wonder if this is a coincidence as I have both and don't see a difference in driver versions.

Every 3rd or 4th time its restarted from standby. Remove the driver and scan of changes works 75% of the time and restart fix the others.

Weird

On my Surface Pro 1 & Pro 2 I think I've seen this about once or twice in a year or so of usage each

I've had my Surface Pro 3 for four days and have an extremely annoying problem. It's impossible to wake the tablet from standby. When I press the capacitive Windows button on the tablet, I can feel a brief vibration but the screen reamains black. If I have a type cover attached, the keys illuminate but again, the screen remains black. Tapping the power button either does nothing or turns off the tablet. If the tablet is not responding, i then have to press the power button and vol+ at the same time.

When I am using the tablet, pressing the power button will turn off the tablet even though this action is set to sleep in the power settings.

All updates have been installed including the recent System Hardware Update 9/09/2014.

I'll reset the tablet to factory and then try again.

Folks at TechEd will remember the keynote where Michelle Dickinson "deconstructed" her Surface 3 to talk about the technology behind it.

I had a chance to talk to Michelle at lunch (thanks Microsoft!) and to get some photos of this Surface 3. Did you know it is water cooled?

nathan: Every time or just some times?

It's happening every time. Just done the factory reset and signed in with my Microsoft account. I left the tablet on and went for lunch. When I came back 30mins later, pressing the Windows button on the tablet or a key on the type cover did nothing. Pressing the power button on turned it back on but it was in a shutdown state i.e. none of the windows I had opened previously were open.

It might be a long shot but I'll factory reset it again and this time I'll create a local account and not use my Microsoft account.
