heavenly_wild: Oh man, I am so indecisive. Should I get a good (and cheaper) desktop and a med-ranged notebook

or

Get the Toshiba X200?

Can anyone imagine carrying the X200 around?

If it's the same size and weight as the P100, I think you might want to go for something a bit smaller if your wanting to carry it around. I think the 17" desktop replacements are for people who usually use the computer at work or home but then occasionally have to carry it around with them.

The weight is about the same it is just the X200 has a larger and thicker casing for ventiliation I think.  OK need to decide, haha.

Evinta: *starts dreaming about what a 512mb card can do for her graphics work*

lol! sounds like a wonder laptop.

*starts dreaming about huge pictures of hot guys*

I'd go for the laptop, unfortunately the wireless card isn't support by Solaris :( I've gotten contact, might another 6 months away before support appears :(

Then again, I'll wait till the beginning of next year :) let the latest and greatest with hopefully CSI technology which will replace the current FSB technology.

To All whom want to know I managed to speak to the 2IC of Haryey Normans Hamilton (it turns out he was the one who took my order about 2 weeks ago) and he told me today that it will arrive some time next week by mon-tue-wed?? not to sure but the agent (portables plus I presume) said they were on there way. From what Ive been told by retail agents Harvey Normans is the only one stocking them and all ther rest (Nole Leemings E.C.T) you will have to order in being such a high price machine. B.T.W if you are using Qcard you need to pay for it before monday or you will lose your 17month defered payment option.

I am swaying towards not purchasing this notebook now solely because of the casing size.

I think I am going to go for a slimmer 15.4" notebook and a gaming desktop.

Hmm, although this notebook is very tempting.

Where do you see yourself using this notebook?  Around the home or in a cafe, for example?

Where you would store this notebook if you were travelling overseas?  Just out of interest:)

Yeah that's cool man.  As I like to travel overseas from time-to-time, I want to make sure I have a place to use my notebook.  My P100 17" notebook is currently too large for use on buses, aeroplanes, etc.

Thanks for the update! I wonder if the price will stay at $4299 though since the brochure says it ends on the 18th of August.

Do you think the price would increase?  From the catalogue it doesn't mention any savings on $4299.  Hopefully in time the price will drop.

Don't know, when I got this P100 the price on the catalogue was $4600, I rang up and was told I had to get it before Sunday else the price would go back to $4800 but when I went on Wednesday it was still $4600 so who knows lol.

looks like you should invest in a smaller screen model and get a big montior for when your working at home.

Yeah, you are right.  Still, if I had all the money in the world, I would go for X200 too, hehe.
