Hi there.

I bought a fairly rubbish Fujitsu A3130 on Trademe.

I'm in the process of upgrading it to it's full potential.

It came with a Mobile Sempron 3400+. I want to upgrade that to a Turion 64x2.

I spent, $50 on a TL-60 CPU, only for it to arrive and to insert it and for it to appear to be incompatible. Despite a BIOS Update.

My numlock lights just flash, and the fans don't spin up.

When I put the Semron back in, it worked as it should.

The question is.. On plenty of review sites for this laptop, it says that the higher spec model of this laptop (A3130) , came with a TL-60 CPU, and that's why I got it.

However, in searching into why it wasn't working, I stumbled on the Original documents for this laptop online, and it states, that it only comes with the Sempron 3400+ CPU, or the AMD Turion TL-56 See here. www.fujitsu.com/downloads/COMP/fpcap/.../factsheet_a3130.pdf

If I had to exchange the TL-60 CPU for a TL-56, should it work, or do the lower performance models of the A3130 laptops, have firmware limitations that the higher spec models don't have?

Thanks

Hi
I'm guessing it might have limitations, like right now, the model of a asus eee pc 1225b can come with multiple processors and graphics.
I suggest you swap that CPU.
