Now I am changing over to a tablet/kb combo and onepays quite a bit more for 3g installed
Is ther a device usb i guess that could plugin and have a sim slot ?

Hi,

I'm unaware of a 3G Dongle that works with android, however you could easily get a pocket wifi device like

http://www.vodafone.co.nz/shop/mobileInternetDetails.jsp?skuId=sku10850013

You can then just change sim cards in other countries and it works with any WiFi capable device

You mean something like a vodem? For what operating system? (Android I guess - I suspect you'd be lucky to find anything that works with android like this)

I just use my cheap old P500 phone as a hotspot when needed with my non-3G transformer - seems easiest and most convenient.

What Nokia do you have? Just be aware Android devices can't connect to ad-hoc hotspots.

Nice; yeah that method has served me very well :) Nice thing is you can position your phone to get good signal without having to reposition anything attached to tablet.  Where I was holidaying over christmas had terrible reception, but I found that it was fine if turned the hotspot on phone on and hung it out of the window in a plastic bag, heh. Though my phone is a $140 android phone around 2 years old... not sure I would do that with a 920!
