Is there anywhere in NZ that sells MacBook components. My girlfriend has been quoted almost $300 to replace a noisy fan in her MacBook. I see you can buy the fans themselves from overseas for as little at $10. Just wondering if there was a local supplier.

I'm sure there is, but TradeMe can be a good place to start.

Interesting.

My 6 mth old macbook pro retina developed a rattling fan. The guy at the service center said they should last 12 months and that it may not be under warranty if excessive dust is to blame.

The technician noticed a faulty wireless card (it could have failed at anytime he said) so he replaced that too.

This is in addition to a display replacement due to 6 dead pixels.

I expected better build quality for a premium machine.
