Im looking at getting a new laptop this month. I need it for work and I bit of entertainment. Normally Movies etc (not really into games)

For Work I use PDF Files a lot (normally around the 10-200mb files) Would my laptop use my Graphic card or would it be just Ram

Basically, anything displayed on the screen will be using your graphics card - that is what they are for. Specifically it will use the 2D capabilities of the card. In a modern computer the data to be displayed is loaded into memory so that the graphics card can display it, and in some cases the CPU will also help do some of the processing.

So the answer to your question is really 'yes' to both.
