Hi All,

I am looking at getting a gaming laptop, never really got one before. Usually build a desktop for that. Due to not playing my desktop that often thesedays and its being old. I thought of getting a laptop. Once that will last around 5 - 6 for Steam Games mainly.

Does anyone out there have any ideas on what brand and models. I am not after a Alien Laptop, expensive and its just the name in my honest opinion.
But open to ideas and reasons.

Cheers all.

One that will last 5-6? You mean 5-6 hours of gaming or 5-6 years of use? You'd be hard pressed to find any laptop that will last 5-6 hours on battery while gaming, if that was what you meant.

The only real reason to get a gaming laptop is portability. If you aren't going to take it around with you, a laptop is just too much a compromise in my opinion. A desktop is upgradeable, and you will get much better hardware for the same price, especially if you build it yourself.

5 to 6 years of use.

I am still tempted to upgrade the desktop.
I will use laptop around the house to work on and to game on. I am using my desktop to connect to the TV and stream films and tv series. NAS box is connected to tv but doesn't stream mkv files.

Will you be using the laptop to usually go to lans etc?

If not id just upgrade the desktop, for the same amount as a good gaming laptop you could get a godly rig

I'm going to noob myself past judgement

True true.

Potential laptop will only be used for working on and steam games. Not for lan parties. Got my xbox one for games.
