Hi Folks,

I have a Surface Pro and have just noticed in the last few days that a yellow bar has appeared down the right hand side of the screen. Its about half an inch to the left of the right scrollbar (if you have a browser opened full screen) and goes from the top to the bottom - it is about an inch wide.

It appears to be quite a common fault judging by the number of responses a google search returned.  Just wondering if this is fixable or do I need to return the device?

Regards

Sounds like an LCD fault. I had a monitor do something like that and it had to be replaced.

Thanks Nathan, I created an exchange service order.  You don't happen to know how long these take generally do you as its a primary device so can't be without it for too long.

might be a week or 2

If you buy them through a Commercial reseller with the 3 year service plan they can send you a forward replacement

Just thought I would update this.

Followed the instructions on the above link,  packaged the surface pro and dropped it in to the couriers office last Tuesday.  Wednesday night received an email saying it had arrived at the destination, Thursday night received notification that is was on the way back (arrived Auckland on Friday), picked it [replacement surface] up from the couriers office today.

So I have to say, excellent service from the folks at Microsoft for resolving this issue so quickly.
