When I start up my HP Laptop, there is a whiring noise for 3-4 seconds?

Many laptops run their fans at high speed for a few seconds on boot, it's normal. If you play games, watch videos for a long time, or partially block the ventilation by say using your laptop on a duvet you'll probably notice the same sound.

This just started, and I have had the laptop since 2012. Why would it just start happening?

Maybe starting to get jammed up with hair/dust and heating up?

Or a recent bios update changed something in the background?
