Hello everyone I just have one question, just wondering I have 2 laptops and one of them has a broken lbs screen the other can't load up windows, can I put the hard drive from the broken screen into the one with the broken operating system? Ones a Toshiba and the other is a Asus thanks.

You can put it in, sure, but it's 50/50 whether windows will boot. Maybe in safe mode.

Why do you want to do this? To get the data off? In that case a USB to SATA converter would be ideal. I think this is the type of thing you'd want here. That or put it in an enclosure like this one, but check the height before you buy one.

Yeah, all your drivers will be different so it probably won't work off the bat.

You could:

- Hook the one with the broken screen up to a monitor/TV and to switch to the external either press FN + F4 or hold Windows key + Shift + left directional arrow (or right, doesn't matter).
- Format the old hard drive or get your business done there.
- Slot it into the other laptop.
- Get your recovery disks/USB key (you made these, right?).
- Or get a Windows disk and use they key on the bottom of the laptop.
- And then reinstall everything.
