Has anyone returned an item to JB-HiFi simply because they changed their mind?

I bought a Toshiba laptop from them that I thought would be a significant upgrade to laptop I had previously. However, it turns out the laptop is not an upgrade at all (despite all of the numbers on the spec sheet going up) During the sales process I asked if I could return it if I didn't end up liking it and the guy told me I could within two weeks.

I can't find any mention of this policy on the internet so I'm wondering if the sales person just said that to get a sale? Is something verbal like that binding?   I do realise that the CGA doesn't cover change of mind returns...  so I'm just wondering if this is common practice for JB and whether the return will be honoured.  Anyone with any experiences to share?

I'd imagine it would be fine. If he said two weeks, make sure you go in within two weeks.

Obviously, be polite - it gets you a long way.

Are you looking to buy something else, that will certainly sweeten them up?

I'm guessing as long as you have the original packaging (including voucher/coupon promotions), and the laptop is in a resellable state there shouldn't be any issue (?)
