Just been looking at JBHiFi and kinda keen on HP X2 tablet (Windows 8.1 with Bing). I can't workout the difference between X2 10-J006tu and 10-J008tu other than price difference of $11 on JBHiFi.

On HP AU, both are priced the same and specifications are the same.

Anyone know the story?

p/s: I'm looking at the low-specs Windows 8.1 tablet and also came across Toshiba Encore 2 Tablet (PDW0BA-008026) which has similar specs to HP X2 but slightly cheaper with no keyboard-cover.

Ideally I'm happy for a 2GB ram and a sufficient local storage for general couchsurfing usage - I have considered Chromebook as well but none of the current generation seem to have good prices touch screen with 2GB ram.

The 006 has two USB ports according to these and these specifications.

Might be slightly different wireless chips or something like that.

For that spec and price range you should also consider the ASUS T100 - http://www.jbhifi.co.nz/computers/asus/transformer-book-t100-sku-261682/

From the HP comparison page, looks to me like the colour is different?

One is black, other is aqua blue.

According to one of my distributors, the only difference does indeed seem to be colour. The NZ specs state the 10-J008TU is Tiffany Blue, and the 10-J006TU is Moonstone Grey. They also both state the colour is Ash Silver. Maybe they have stripes!

eg. from the 10-J006TU specs:

Colour: Ash Silver
Colour: Moonstone Gray
