Is there anything similar to the Asus x550L at JB hifi? Considering taking up an interest free offer.

I play mostly RTS, I usually play 2-3 year old games and currently playing older (COH). Also playing Civ5.

But wouldnt mind being able to play some new games on low settings.

So not looking for an outright gaming machine, price factor is the most important.

Id prefer Asus as Ive never owned a bad one. And would prefer to stay away from Acer and HP as Ive never had a good one. Although the Mrs has a nice elitebook for work, but different price factor.

What's your price range?
I would be looking for something with a Nvidia GT 840M (preferably GTX 850M+ but that might be out of price range). Although what you can get would highly depend on your price bracket, and I find JB deals to mostly be lackluster.

We got the x550l for $1k from PBtech, has a gt840 in it, 8GB ram, core i7. Perhaps Im unlikely to get such a deal from JB?

JB hifi use Qcard, whcih Dicksmith also use.

They have 24 months interest free (with minimum repayments)

Worth an option if you are planning to make regular payments but want to avoid interest

Yep avid qcard user. Can either be costly or be a great deal. the best are 12-18 months no payments interest free.
