I recently got hold of a Lenovo thinkpad 2. I plugged in my Toshiba 1tb external drive and it clicks.
Plugged back into mu mac book no click plugged into my desktop no click tablet click click
I believe after a bit of reading that it is to do with lack of power form the tablet
Now the drive has no ability to be plugged in

Anyone no a solution to this dilemma?

of course! off i go to Google to find out what a otg Y cable is!!

I was also thinking that a Ravpower unit would work and they are rechargeable so it still stays portable

its not an OTG cable, just a USB Y cable

1 USB A into the TP2, another USB A into another power source, the other end into USB HDD

Yep. This will be standard USB not OTG. Standard y cable.
