From what i have read on other sites, it doesnt look like i can buy a clean new copy of Windows XP and place it on my computer.  I have a copy from my desktop, retail, not boot disk.  And when i tried to install.  It went through all the install steps, Got to the screen where it asks if i want to format and install XP.  I press enter for Yes, or agree. dont remeber the message.  It then tells me i have no hard drives and that they cant be found. to make sure they are turned on.  Anyone know why this is doing this.  Or is it simply because i cant go XP from Vista, if i took it to a computer shop for help, would they be able to do anything that i cant.

XP doesn't have the drivers for the ?Intel? chipset SATA controller.
