Hi all - I'm looking to buy a new Android tablet. I definitely want a 16:9 or 16:10 ratio resolution. I will only be using the tablet for 16:9 content, demoing media to clients and watching YouTube. I don't think 4G will be necessary... microSD slot would be nice.

I have been a fan of Samsung but unfortunately they only make 4:3 ratio tablets now. Sony have a nice 16:10 model with the Z3 compact, but I'm wary of buying Sony now that they have discontinued tablets and may not support them with future Android updates.

AFAIK LG have a 16:10 tablet, but their website is horrible with no link to tablets that I can find... so I can't get specs or find out which are the most recent models etc. Does anybody know where I can find this info or have a recommendation for a different brand? Thanks in advance.

I assume  you've checked out pricespy (www.pricespy.co.nz)? Their filters are pretty good, so you may be able to narrow down your choice there.

Thanks for that link, I was able to narrow down some specs and am reviewing several options.

I found a Z3 Sony with the following 4G specs:

  • Network Band : GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, 3G 850, 3G 900, 3G 1700, 3G 1900, 3G 2100, 4G/LTE 700, 4G/LTE 800, 4G/LTE 850, 4G/LTE 900, 4G/LTE 1700, 4G/LTE 1800, 4G/LTE 1900, 4G/LTE 2100, 4G/LTE 2600
  • Networks : 2G 900/1800, 3G 850 (NextG), 3G 900, 3G 2100, 4G LTE 1800, 3G 1700, 3G 1900, 4G LTE 700, 4G LTE 850, 4G LTE 1900, 4G LTE 2600
  • SIM Card Type : Micro SIM
  • Handset Branding (Logo) : None/Not Recorded
  • 3G : Yes
  • Next G Compatible : Yes
  • Telstra/Optus 4G Compatible : Yes

Just out of curiosity would that be able to use the existing microSIM from my S4? (I'm with Spark).

Watch things that list LTE 700 and dont specify the band number, as the ones from some countries will not work on 28 which is what is used here for 700 LTE

Lenovo A10. Amazon link (can be purchased at JB, or at least could). Discussion thread. Fast, reasonably light, works great for sofa web and email. Played a couple of casual games, was fine. It's not a powerhouse or top of the line, but a good midrange tablet, faster than my S4.
