Most new laptops now come with Vista pre-loaded (an inevitable fact), so you'll need really look hard for one.

Under 1000 is (like mine) reduced in good essentials (like RAM, HDD capacity, battery life)...

Can I ask what you are trying to achieve? As you may find that it is illegal to do in the country, and also against our FUG to discuss.

A 'good war driving laptop'?

Is that like a 'good garden hose to steal someones metered water' ?
Or a 'good gas can for nicking off with petrol' ?
