Ive been keeping an eye on prices.

For example one retailer is now asking $3300 for a gl502vm gtx1060. they are $1699 in the US.

Anyone know who sells the cheapest pascal notebooks? PB tech do the GB 15" 1060for $2450, but Im looking for other options and preferably a gtx1070 as close to $2700 as possible.

Dont use it for gaming much but have a GPU intensive program.

It seems the gigabyte 17inch model is the cheapest on the market with a 1070 at ($2,888.80) at the time of writing this:

I have ordered the Gigabyte 15inch version with the 1060 for $2411 will see how it goes its out of stock till early November

NZ being screwed as usual. Pisses me off that Australians can buy lenovo high spec laptops cheaper than us(to the point where flying return to sydney/melb is still cheaper than NZ)

Sounds like you need a holiday to the USA. Buy one, have some fun while your at it. You wont pay any tax, make it look like your work laptop in a laptop bag and no one will know.

Yes its more expensive than just buying one, but hey you get a holiday out of it.....  but most of that markup is import costs/shipping and tax.

Id be going 4k and downscaling if needed.

They are still ridiculously high. $1500 for gl502 in US $2650nzd 1060 model.

The problem is the 9 series isnt dropping here either, Im seeing 970ms near 10 series prices and 980s the same price as 1070s.

The Acer lappies really picked up there game. Im not sure which model it is, but the 4k panel is something like 370 nits and 120% sRGB (dont quote me)

Actually the 17" predator 302 average nits, but 88% Adobe RGB. Good black levels. Good contrast. Downside not great on colour accuracy and especially being 1080p id not be using it for lightroom etc

Still the screens to beat are the notebook surface pro and the dell UHD 9550 15.

I agree I would prefer cheaper pricing on the asus (it's slim form factor is more appealing) considering right now the Acer with a bigger ssd and 1070 is cheaper

given the 980m is roughly equivalent to a 1070 and the 970m is roughly equivalent to the 1060 that isn't all that surprising. There will be stock in the market for those that still has to dry up. The 10 series haven't been out all that long for mobile.

you got to be kidding that the 980M is equivalent to the 1070 (NO M), or that the 970M is equivalent to the 1060

The 1060 is roughly 980m given its lower boost than the desktop.

Hmmm go check the stats guys on notebookcheck, i think you will find its half way.

But either way keeping 980ms and full retail price isnt going to sell them. half the price and they might shift stock.

we only talking notebooks so no need for the M on the 10s, feels weird saying gtx1080m when its a lot closer to desktops in the past gens.

980/1070

970/1060

960/1050 etc etc

I think you are confused.
We are taking about desktop 1070 and 1080 in notebooks hence no M because there is no M.

the topic shows 3 "kinds" of GPUs.

1 - 9 series Mobile GPU in laptop

2 - 9 series desktop GPU in laptop

3 - 10 series desktop GPU in laptop
