Hey guys.

I bought a new laptop a couple of weeks ago and finally unboxed it last night.

Anyway, got it all set up etc. However I noticed that when I was browsing etc the pages were taking ages to load, or not at all.

I soon discovered that it was happening on my phone too, and also the current laptop I was using, which is old. I thought it was a connection issue, but worked out eventually that the new laptop is the problem.

As soon as I turned it off, everything worked fine on my devices. Pages were loading up at normal speed. Turned the new laptop back on and again, everything slowed down to dial up, or worse nothing loaded at all.

How can I fix this? Is there something I need to update in the laptop?

Current on mobile, link below to the laptop..

I have noticed it has AC wifi, could that be the problem? I currently have a Fritz!Box from 2Degrees, in on ADSL. Could it be that it isn't compatible with each other and that is cutting the connection?

The lights stay on on the router, so the connection is still there, it just takes ages to load anything or it doesn't load at all.

Thanks.

Connect a cable to the router and let it get all of its updates downloaded and installed. Then if it's windows 10 make sure it's not doing that awful windows update sharing with other devices. It tries to share on your network and other PC's around the world.

"AC" shouldn't be a problem. Make sure your router is updated as suggested above and try using a cable to see if it's a router problem or really WiFi.

Where is the option to check if it's enabled or not? Had a look around, can't seem to find it. Went into settings.

maybe your laptop is uploading something ... do you have onedrive or something that could be doing intensive upload from the laptop?

the other explanation i can think of is intensive downlaoding from your laptop ... maybe talking to mothership?

Open Settings, Update & Security click in "Advanced Options" then click "Choose how updates are delivered" and make sure "PCs on my local network" is selected - you don't want "PCs on my local network and PCs on the internet".
