I have a birthday coming up, and will be replacing my laptop. I went pat Hardly Normal today and had a look at the Spectre 360's and they seemed pretty decent. I've read a few reviews and whatnot, but I figured I'd ask if anyone has firsthand experience with them and what they think of it. Good, bad and ugly, I'd love to hear it.

Also is there a significant difference in the i5 vs i7 when it comes to kaby lake laptops? I won't be doing video editing or anything. just looking for opinions. Thanks

We've sold a number of the 2016 models to clients who have loved them.

For general purpose use I would lean toward an i5 to go a bit easier on the battery.

Thanks! I'll look into the i5. The i7 has double the storage with a 512 gig ssd, however I'm not too sure I'd fill it up at all. I've been using an old macbook air (the keyboard stopped responding) with only 128 gigs and done just fine.

The only other difference is the QHD screen vs 1080p screen, but on a 15 inch laptop/tablet I don't think it will make much difference.

Can you send me the model number of the macbook air please, if you plan to part with it for a modest price?  I have one here with a damaged lid and broken screen that I would like to try and fix.

It's a 13 inch model 1369. I still have the box and everything, and absolutely loved it, but the keyboard went and I don't have the time or energy to look into trying to get it fixed.

I'm certainly open to offers, I was going to toss it on trademe later this week.

Welp, this is really strange, I just booted it up to make sure it was still booting, and they keyboard worked just fine. I'd still like to get rid of it, but I'm not too sure it would be what you are after. I'll toss it on trademe and state it has had keyboard issues, after I use it for a while today and make sure it's still okay.

Edit: Upon further use, the bnm,./ keys are not functioning, it may be something loose or something like that, I'm not sure. So if you (or anyone else) are willing to make an offer knowing it has a dodgy keyboard that seems to work some of the time, I'm all ears. Otherwise, I'll toss it on trademe.

Ahhh I've just checked and the one I have is a 2014 model, so I'm sure the design won;t be compatible.  Thanks anyway.

Thank you.  Plenty of LCDs on Trademe, though they are not cheap.  Panelbeating the rather bent lid just right so the glass sits nicely will be an interesting test of my non-existent metalwork skills.  :)
