Tried upgrading my old Acer Aspire 5335 from T1600 CPU to T9600 and laptop just hiccups at boot (shuts down and tries restarting). I have the latest BIOS so I'm assuming it won't work with the FSB of 1066Mhz for the T9600.

I've read in a post that a guy replaced his celeron with a T9300 in the same Acer 5335 laptop and it worked fine. The T9300 is a 800Mhz front side bus so I'm wondering if a T9500 might work but I don't have one to try (or T9300).

Anyone have any ideas or have a T9500 or T9300 CPU lying round they are interested in swapping for a T9600?

Thanks.
Steve (in Tauranga)

Had a thought that it could be the RAM FSB only being 667Mhz causing the problem with the T9600. One stick was 667Mhz the other Mhz800. Solved that so both RAM sticks are now 800Mhz but laptop still refuses to work with the T9600 CPU.

So still looking for a T9300 or T9500:-).
