Folks,

My daughter purchased an ASUSEee in Singapore and has used it for 3 months in the middle-east and UK .... it came with a UK style wall plug.

The ASUS power adaptor has the facility to slide in and out various plug pin configurations for differing power points/supply.

We would like to get one for NZ rather than using an extra UK-to-NZ adaptor as these are heavy and bulky.

Anyone know where the extra plug fittings can be obtained?

Thanks for reply but none of those are any good.

The ASUS power adaptor is an all-in-one unit that plugs into the wall socket ... not like a "normal" laptop power pack, more like a 'phone charger, with two straight prongs that are ok for japan, USA etc. Depending where you buy it comes with an additional plug adaptor that slides over the top of the built-in prongs .... like a clip-on.

Are you sure that other adapters exist? There's at least one reference on the web that states that the UK plug adapter was a short term thing until a proper UK PSU was made. Does this one look anything like your adaptable one?

Hi Bung,

Yes, it does look like that, except ours has the UK style pins.

Presumably yours with the correct pins for Oz and NZ can also be removed by pressing the tab at the bottom and sliding it up .... this will then reveal the two staright-pin style used in the US and Japan.

Or is yours a completely fixed/sealed unit?

Not mine, found with google image search. That unit looks quite different to the one on this thread with a removable bit.

If your unit is like the picture linked to Bung's last post, I would say the Motorola SYN8127B would be exactly what you need.

Not sure where you'ld be able to buy one as an individual piece though. Mine came with the Razr V3x I brought from Vodafone 18 months ago, so maybe talking to them might help? - No, I'm not trying to be funny...

Or maybe a mobile phone repair centre?

UPDATE: Many thanks to all that responded, and due to the generosity of Forum memebr Peppery, we now have the plug adapter sought.
