Ok my wife did a silly thing and plugged the dyson vacuum charger into her Acer aspire 3 laptop. In effect 30v charger plugged in instead of 19v.

Now it won't charge. It will still boot up but aitwon't get past the flat battery icon.

Any ideas?

Is it repairable?

Probably blown the charging circuitry on the motherboard. Very unlikely to be repairable.

Is it covered by your contents insurance?

It is Probably repairable.
There are a few companies in NZ doing component level repairs to notebooks.

It wont be cheap, $300 upwards . is it worth it ?
