Might be a dumb question but does your mobo have 2 NVMEs slots?
Or clone current NVME to an image on say another SSD drive, boot off that then image it back on the new.
just get one of these NVME Enclosures
I brought one and installed a crucial 1tb because i was sick or dragging so many USB thumb drives around! i use it daily and it can easily max out the USB3 connection on most devices.

You will of course have a backup USB Drive. :-)
Just do a full system image to that Drive , then restore from that image to the new M.2
The backup build into Win10 is very good at making a full disk image . Use a bootable Win10 USB/CD to do the restore from image
Or buy an M.2 enclosure from PB Tech. They are reasonably cheap .
