I am starting to look for a new laptop as my current ones is getting a bit "old".

I currently have a HP one, and I am looking at getting another HP.

What should I look for in getting a new laptop?

its going to be use for photo, video editing creating document and doing a lot of web based work and some web site building etc.., I wont be playing any games on it.

I'll go with Lunar Lake or the Ryzen AI series processors if I was buying right now.

The Snapdragon X Elite processors are the business so long as everything is native, or expect a performance penalty.

For me Lunar Lake tickets all the boxes of the Snapdragon and no compatibility or performance penalties.

I don't do video editing, though the Lunar Lake GPU is pretty impressive, it likely wouldn't compete with a decent spec decicated graphics, but then expect a jump in price and weight.

If you want the latest and greatest, the only Lunar Lake laptop I can find available in NZ is this Lenovo

Yoga Slim 7i (14", Gen 10) Aura Edition I AI PC will bring your most ambitious creative projects to life | Lenovo NZ

It does look like a fantastic PC though.

Some more helpful information you could provide - what size laptop, do you value a thin and light experience over an affordable device? Do you plan to keep this device in one place, or is it going to be a mobile laptop? When you say Photo and Video editing, do you mean advanced photo and video editing, or just touching up photos and videos you've taken?

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.

Most importantly, what's your budget?

Also how much of your work is "local" vs "cloud"??

If you're using 365 and things like Adobe cloud, then your performance demands are going to be much lower than if you were running those apps natively ....
