Have a HP Probook 430 G8 sitting here with a shattered screen - is there any way for me to force it to output to HDMI so I can see a display ?

Tried using the "monitor" (F1) key but didn't seem to do anything....

Be nice to be able to use this little powerhouse as a desktop if possible rather than stripping for parts and tossing out...

My suggestion was going to be USB C dock with lid closed, glad you found a solution.

Tried that and didn't like it either for some reason. Screen was coming out one way or another ;)

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

Was first thing I tried :) Thing was I couldnt even tell if it was getting to Windows, the screen was that badly gone.

Was glad to see the BIOS screen once I disconnected the screen :D

Turns out touchpad is also dead, but thats fine, will either be connected to external devices anyway, or used as a server in a cupboard ;)

Late to the party but yes... for the output to go to HDMI during post you need to fully disconnect the LCD from the motherboard.

But you worked that out already :)
