hey guys,

posted here earlier with questions about touchscreen laptops, and hae now done my homework on them.

Just wanted to get some feedback from someone on the following:

HP TouchSmart tx2z customizable Notebook PC FR239AV

    – Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
    – AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor ZM-86 (2.4 GHz)
    – FREE Upgrade to 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm) from 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    – 250GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
    – ATI Radeon(TM) HD 3200 Graphics with 64MB Display Cache Memory
    – 12.1" diagonal WXGA High-Definition HP LED BrightView Widescreen (1280x800)Integrated Touchscreen
    – LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
    – Webcam + Fingerprint Reader with HP Imprint Finish (Reaction)
    – Wireless-G Card with Bluetooth
    – HP Color Matching Keyboard
    – 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    – System Recovery DVD with Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit)
    – Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
    – $20 OFF!! Cyberlink DVD Suite Premium 6
    – HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope
USD$1200 (hp.com)

Main issues are that the AMD chip is pretty poor performer compared to an intel 2.4GHz dual core and runs hot aswell. . .  Also what are the cons of 64bit OS? Only seem to hear the pros of it (more ram). Also how good is that gfx card? seems to only have 64MB ram on it? Have gone for a faster hdd rather than bigger, as 250GB is plenty for me (got a 500GB external). Other question is regarding MS Onenote 2007 - is it essential for touchscreen or is there better software which does same/better things out there?

Any other laptop suggestions? Prefer not to go toshiba as I have had bad experiences (though that was with XP not vista).

Cheers
Nathan
