Hi guys - my first post :)

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience buying a duty-free Mac laptop coming or going from NZ? I am heading over to Vanuatu in a month or so and just wondered if I should put buying one off til then...

Thanks for any help!

The best you can hope to do is save 12.5% GST. You'd be better off looking the the refurb section of the online apple store or trying to get a discount in a shop

I've tried getting a discount in a shop. Apple's margins to the retailer are so razor thin that you wont even be able to get a $25 discount. You're best off watching the refurbs.

Yes, a 12.5% discount would be good for Apple products!

I think the discounts on the refurbs are better than the 12.5% of getting it anywhere else. Unless you can actually buy the US refurbs at the US Apple Store, thus getting both the GST discount and the refurb price.
