So I won one of these this morning....

Anyone got one, and mind finding me a little bit of info? I'm after the USB device id from the 3G modem. I can tell you approximately where to look if anyone can help.

Congratulate to you... I won't having it if I won it but I won't go out and buy it, the keyboard is a bit tinsy tiny and it doesn't have F11 and F12. Isn't it come installed with Windows XP, which you can use Device Manager to find that out?

Oh, agreed... its keyboard is a bit small, but hey I'll still use it :P

I would definitely look, but I don't have it yet - it gets couriered. I'm wondering if the specific model of 3G modem is included in the list of supported devices in the linux USB serial option module.

In US, I think you have the option to install Linux. I am sure Wiki would have some info, if any token, Dell Mini 9 is the best candidate for Hackintosh, so won't be surprised if its devices would be more compatible.

Yeah, I know. I'm specifically interested in the usb device id of the HSDPA modem so I can confirm whether or not it's included in the stock kernel source. I believe it is, I just want to check.

No worries, I'll just wait till it arrives.

Yeah, as chiefie states, I don't have it yet, hence why asking if someone else can get the info.. appears no-one has one, so I'll just have to wait. I suppose I could also wander down to the vodafone shop in town and have a look too, which I'll probably do.

Thanks for the 'help' though, but I should have mentioned I'm a linux geek from way back. :)

(I'm actually quite keen to give Moblin a go, but it doesn't support HSDPA/WWAN yet.)
