Have got an HP presario v6000 laptop with unknown/forgotten power on password (bios password), however there is a vunerability in the bios version where if you push esc on power on and then push enter, it doesnt ask for power on password and just boots from hdd, otherwise with out pushing esc it just displays a prompt saying enter power on password.  This issue has been addressed in a bios update from hp which I will not be installing for obvious reasons.  However I would still like to remove the password so I can access bios boot options to reinstall the os from cd, removing bios batt dont work cause its stored in eeprom chip.  I have come across a tool called unlock6.exe which generates a master overide password but its specificly for dv4000 and v4000 series hp laptop models.  I know that such a tool exists for dv6000 and v6000 series models but where to download it?  I have spent countless hours sifting through websites in google and can only come up with sites full of absolute rubbsh, and also sites asking for a hefty sum to provide a master overide password.  Im not willing to pay hundreads just for a password, I might aswell sell the laptop for spare parts on trademe and buy another from ingram micro thru our company.  Can anyone help me? would be much appriciated
