Anyone have experiences with Just Laptops (www.justlaptops.net.nz).

Thinking of recommending them to someone based on their very strong TradeMe feedback (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Feedback.aspx?type=s&member=214792) and the fact that a lot of their laptops come with XP.

Cheers.

huh? how can you recommend a company to someone that you've had no dealings with?!

I CAN recommend either Ascent and Acquire and both have a good selection of laptops (mainly HP models I think) that come with both Windows XP Pro and Vista licences

I have bought from Just Laptops and added my positive feedback along with the others you mention. Never had any need of support, which is generally when the rubber hits the road.

That's why I'm asking....

Anyone with only two -ve feedbacks on 3,500+ TradeMe transactions must be doing something right.

Acquire - never used them. Website navigation could be better.

I've used Ascent several times. Can certainly vouch for them. Just had a look, and they've got a few new notebooks round the $1,000 price point with Win XP Pro. Those must've just come in very recently.

Agreed.

Computer Lounge and Ascent would be my first choice for etailers. Although, I think Ascent has a slipped just a little in recent years.

Yep agree on the Ascent comment. We use Acquire ALOT (IT Consultancy) and find their service is second to none. Yeah they're Auckland based, but I try not to hold that against them.

And yes, their website is awful and they are reminded of this often! :)
