hi

i am trying to install office xp on my computer, yes i have xp os, about just under quarter the way through the instalation i get this:

error 1305. setup cannot read file D:\FILES\PFILES\MSOFFICE\OFFICE10\ACWZMAIN.MDE. Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential solutions to this problem, see D:\FILES\PFILES\MSOFFICE\OFFICE10\1033\SETUP.HLP.


i have no idea what this is or means, can someone please help?

Are you installing from a CD? It could be that it's scratched.

In this case, if this is an original CD check with the reseller for what steps to follow to get a new one.

It could also be a hardware problem with your CD drive.
