Greetings

I'm looking to buy a cheap netbook. I heard (some comment on trademe) that there were decent netbooks going for ~200 last year boxing day or sometime like that. Can anyone verify that? Does anyone have any idea, if such a sale exists, when the next one will be? Hopefully.. before boxing day.

Any past experiences with buying computers and sale trends would be much appreciated :)

Yes it did exist. $288 for a brand new netbook at Harvey Norman. Many people here (including me) got one. RRP was $799. Doubt we will see a similar deal again for a long time.

Try a Pricespy search for 10" and there's a few at $469, $488 etc

Prob won't see a similar sale for that price

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

I know somebody who didn't know much about computers and purchased one of these. They are complete and utter pieces of junk.

looks like it ended up selling to somebody, for $160

for just letting the kids browse the net it seems like it does the job at the right price

interestingly it runs Windows CE.... hmm... probably right for slow coach pc that is just meant to browse the web
