I am the mother of a soldier in Iraq. he needsa laptop,(his died),and plays role playing games alot. Which one should I get him....not alot of money here..1,600 tops.....thank you for all help.

Have you had a look at Alienware? They make some good gaming PCs.

I would recommend staying away from the cheaper Celeron-based machines. Perhaps looking at Pentium M or Centrino. 512MB (megabytes) RAM would be the minimum, if possible configure it with 1GB (gigabyte). The MJ-12 m5500i should be ok for non-heavy games (i.e. those that do not push the graphics too far).

another thing to watch is a lot of video cards for laptops do not support some games for example my compaq presario 2500 wont play colin mcrae rally for that reason
