My old hdd was a Hitachi Travelstar 7k200. Which is pretty damn fast with average seek time around 13ms. But it was too small(120GB), so I have finally got around to replace it.

Never liked seagate much from my earlier overclocking days (Quantum, Maxtor all withstood high PCI frequency, seagate never did :P), so I went after the Western Digital's 7200rpm 500GB Drive.

It's transfer rate is quite good(as in better than my 7k200) but average seek time is actually a tad worse. Anyway, it feels quick and am pleased that I could get my hands on this drive so quickly.

Since I couldn't see any reviews on this drive yet, thought I'd post it here incase anyone's looking for an HDD upgrade for their laptop.
