(not sure if this is the right place to post...?)

Plug Computing

I want to get one of these but haven't found any NZ retailers for it and I don't really want to order from the UK (high shipping price, exchange rates and all that)

Also does anyone know of a similar product (low power consumption server) that costs around $70-$200 available in NZ?

I can't offer any local suppliers, but I am interested in getting one of these as well, and would be happy to combine our order to save on shipping?

If there is anyone else interested, maybe we can make it a group buy?

Reply if you're interested.

Found this site: http://www.procase.co.nz/VIA/mini_itx.htm
Also this: http://www.procase.co.nz/VIA/artigo1.htm - no pricing though.

This site: http://www.pp.co.nz/products.php?pp_id=AA23676 does have pricing for that unit.
Likewise: http://www.ascent.co.nz/productspecification.aspx?ItemID=388545

So if you try mini/nano/pico itx into pricespy you get a few mobos.
I guess it would be a DIY result rather than a plug and play box though.

@drtitus,
Thanks for the offer but I don't really want to order from overseas.

@robjg63,
Thanks for the links but they are all above my price range.

I am currently looking at getting one of these too, but i depends what you want to do with it there are three main options, keep the stock firmware with pogoplug software or similar, flash with "plug apps", or install a Linux distro like debian.

Look at http://www.plugapps.com for more info it could be a good solution depending on what your goal is.

Im looking at installing debian and using it as a NAS and mythtv backend.

I have found the Seagate GoFlex Net which is essentially the same but has 2 sata ports and only 1 usb, this is available in NZ for $130 - 200 ish on pricespy.co.nz or they are about 70 USD on amazon.
