Hello everyone,

I am a new user and have been refered on here to suggest that experts lurk on this site and are more than happy to advise and encourage newbies?

I would like some assistance to buy a new laptop in New Zealand.

I am after a 17" or larger that is for business, not multimedia although I do enjoy music, multimedia graphics is not a priority.

Large HDD the better and prefer SSD drive or drives depending on budget etc.

Specifically looking for FAST, GRUNTY CPU, RAM AND HDD.

Extended warranty if also possible ??

Go to the Dell website and customise a laptop to suit. Last time I priced up a grunty machine to compare to the MacBook Pro I have, it was around $3300 (Mac was around $5000)

You would be better of saving your coin, and getting a 14" instead, that way your laptop is more portable.

Also if you buy a 24inch lcd monitor, with wireless keyboard and mouse, it can turn into a powerful dual monitor desktop while at the office too.

I would recommend a business grade Toshiba M11.
My M9 has lasted 3+ years and still going strong. Still beats the specs off most cheap laptops too.
