FYI

Just so ya know, new Dells are coming with Express 54/ card slots and not PCMCIA, they feel that PCMCIA is dead.

So if ya want to connect to a Mobile broadband offering from TNZ or VNZ then your out of luck with a Voda phone at present.

The Gtran 6210 EVDO on TNZ does have a USB cable though!

it has been the talk for years. and once again, apple made the first bold move (as far as i can tell) to push ExpressCard/34 to the consumer. and Sony VAIO too.

You'll find that many Intel Core Solo/Duo will have no PCMCIA slot but with ExpressCard/34 or /54.

If you have UMTS phones, and data cable, you can use the phone as modem, most models support this. With Telecom's i think you'll will need Apache (EVDO) and datacable to use it as modem, and most other CDMA phones are just CDMA 1x.

As mentioned in this post.

I think this thread could either close or merge with the one about "Mobile Data cards wont work with New Dell Laptops"
