I want to upgrade the RAM in my 2010 unibody Macbook Pro (15" 2.53Ghz model) from its stock 4GB, and am after a little advice as to the best place to source it from. I'm looking to purchase 2x4GB modules.
I seem to recall Mauricio had recently purchased some RAM from his Macbook from Other World Computing, so I was initially looking at purchasing this bundle from them. The price seems pretty good, although I'm still looking for the P&H costs to get the total cost.
My search for a local supplier also turned up a company called Upgradeable, which have this bundle for NZD $210. I can get this posted for as little as $10, so the cost probably works out to be a little more than the US supplier (although not so much that it would dissuade me from ordering from them).
Does anyone else (or you, Mauricio) have any advice, experience, or recommendations they can share WRT macbook RAM upgrades? I'm not 100% down with the hardware specs to look for WRT RAM, but on the surface both of these RAM modules look similar in terms of specs.
The NZ supplier does stress that they specialize in high quality parts, but I generally take claims like that with a pinch of salt. Does anyone have any experience with them and can comment on their claim, one way or the other? Alternatively, are there other suppliers I should be considering for this?
