What attracts me to it is the N550, which is a dual core. At $550 at Bond & Bond that seems a good deal!

Plus I plan to buy another two gig of RAM to swap out of that the 1 gig and boost the netbook to then have 2 gig.

Other stats: 250 gig hardrive (plenty big enough for me to have both windows and Linux on it) and 10.1" screen.

Thinking I'll get this today or tomorrow, what does everybody else think?

according to pricespy, that is a good price. what i would do is get a bag and other stuff you need, then haggle them down on price. worked out good when i got my camera , card and bag from them. got $60 off and the camera was clearly under cost.

i think they are nice netbooks, and itd be sweet on 2gb ram

hmmm... I have no experience with haggling :s

I'm pleased I saw this review calling it "the king of netbooks":

http://apcmag.com/notebookhunter/hp-mini-110-3538tu.htm

So it looks like a good choice!

However I'm less than pleased that Bond and Bond sucks with their specifications listing both in store and on their website, got a lot wrong. For instance the resolution of the screen and if the netbook had wifi 802.11n

At least because they had a demo laptop there I could look it up and find out the answers for myself on the actual machine.

Yeh HP's products look really nice, but I'd never recommend an HP/Compaq product to anyone ever again after all the stories I've heard and experience. cheap = cheap parts

Be glad you could look up the specs, at the np bond n bond you get glared at from over the counter if you even think of going to touch something

Even better I got to play around with their mac laptops because there were hooked up to the internet, to look up reviews then compare with the HP in the shop. Of course the shop "assistants" would constantly come up and ask me if I needed "help", but I just shrugged this off and let them know I'm doing just fine ;-)

However, other than the demo machine they had none in stock (and same for all their other stores too!) yet I really wanted to get a netbook last weekend. Hmm.... might go to Noel Lemming tomorrow in Newmarket and see what they say, as it is $550 over there too.

tardtasticx, well.. netbooks *are* meant to be cheap thus shouldn't be surprising if this HP netbook is too? :P :s

btw, I ended up getting this some weeks ago and been using it daily since then

quite pleased with it!

only problem is it really could do with a boost to 2gigs of ram, however when I tried to get some yesterday I had a hell of a lot of trouble and ended up not getting any so still looking :-s
