Hey all.

Here is what im trying to achieve

2 laptops (connected via Ad Hoc wireless probably)

One to sit in front of a speaker (L1), another to sit in front of out of handing note reach (L2).

We want L1 to have a blank screen until a note is typed on L2 then pushed to L1. Once the note has been read we want L1 to go blank again.

I was thinking VNC but this needs to be as un complicated as possible and require no touching from the speaker.

(note this will be used in a court situation)

Any Ideas on what software to use etc?

Thanks guys

(sorry if wrong section)

You could try Teamviewer. Allows you to control a remote computer. Eg the one in front of the speaker, you can make the remote screen show black but on the computer you are controlling it from can still see the remote screen, so you could type the message then disable the black screen for the speaker to read the note/whatever, then re-enable the black screen after its been read.

You don't happen to have access to an ipad do you?

There are a number of solutions that allow you to use the Ipad as a extended monitor for a PC/Mac Laptop,

you could then Just drag the Window you wanted them to see, and then drag it back to type new stuff.

^ this is the solution we are trying to avoid due to the cost of an Ipad.

I tried that software but you need to be on the internet for this to work?

We wont be able to get the internet in the court room sadly.

According to the Blurb, you just need a wireless LAN, not the internet,

So an adhoc wirelesss connection should work

Also, where are you?

I know you can rent ipads in Auckland, so I am sure if you are in a big smoke somewhere you might be able to rent one.

Sorry about the new post, damn content control software at Work blocks me from editing posts- grr

Check firewall settings if you can't get MaxiVista to work.
