Hi all. An average-user type of person needs to buy a new laptop, which isn’t too bulky (yet not a netbook), convenient for carrying around and not too fragile. Doesn’t have to be a high-end system, since, like I said, the demands are on the average-user level, but a decently modern one. Preferably should also look good, and be as inexpensive as possible.

I came across Dell Inspiron M102z which seems to match the criteria quite well. Is that a good choice, or are there any better and/or cheaper options?

Thanks a lot.

Both Dell and Sony do a 12 inch amd fusion powered notebook. Both cost around $1000 and seem good.

Both will have the same speed roughly as a dual core notebook from a couple of years ago. IE: enough for word processing, internet and some light gaming and both should give around 5-6 hours of battery life. Also they both have decent graphics chips so should play all the videos you want to watch.

If I had a little more money and didnt need all day battery life, I would have bought one of these over the samsung netbook.
Otherwise you could look at a macbook as DSE has them on special

or there is a 13.3 inch Asus at JB Hifi that should give you even more grunt if you need it and dont mind spending a little more.
