Ever since last night my computer had just shut down from the internet for some strange reason.  It was working right up until 11pm and then it said that the connection was limited or no connectivity.

I currently use 1 desktop computer, Xbox Live and Playstation Net on the same router and they all work perfectly except my computer so please help thanks allot.

You didn't tell us how is your network configured. Are you using a router? Are the IP addresses automatically assigned or are you manually entering those?

From your laptop can you PING the other devices in the network, or the router?

It sounds that it could be one of those:

- incorrect drivers
- network interface is dead
- if ethernet the cable is faulty
- if wireless then router is ok? Tried reset?
- Any new software installed? Firewalls?

Lots of things could cause this, the list goes forever. You have to start looking at things that have changed.

Oops sorry I didn't do that, I use a Alcatel Speedtouch 510 router and I have checked my IP address and it should be correct but I've tried getting into the router from my computer and I can't even get into that for some unknown reason.  I have figured out that it could be my antivirus thats the problem (I am using Trend Micro 2007) because now when I open it, it always comes up with an error and I can't uninstall the software and reinstall it and I don't know why.  I've been using the same router for 3 years now and its just started playing up on my laptop.  But yeah I have no troubles with Playstation Net, Xbox Live or this computer that I am using to post on here from.

Maybe you should try backing up your data and doing a clean install on windows. If it works you know it was a software error. If not thenits a hardware problem.

Can you check the settings in Trend Micro? Its possible to do a forced removal of TM, if you look throught the TM directory in Program Files you will find an uninstall program for it.
