Seems like all I do here now is moan, sorry people! I will however compliment good service when I recieve it, and staff at Northlands Mall Telecom Store in the past have been exceptional in sorting out issues with my credit card topups. I do love Telecom 90% of the time (3G rocks when I work in rural areas!), but i'm just about ready to give up, it seems like all i'm doing lately is arguing with an overseas call centre for something that i've paid for, and in the end, not recieved.

I've run into a problem now with using my free minutes that I purchased, i've spent 90 minutes over three phone calls today getting no where with 0800 32 32 32 (ext 6, then 4). I've been told that I have used all my minutes, that there is a system error and also had long explanations in relation to cancelling the auto renew on my Talk Value Pack (which in my opinion shouldnt stop me using the minutes).

When I go to make a toll call I get the following message "Welcome to Telecom - You have insufficient funds to make this call - if you'd like to topup your prepaid account, please wait..... etc etc".

In the past i've been able to use my purchased value packs (eg Talk Text Data) while having $0.00 credit, is this now not the case? Or have I used the minutes already? Or is the usage meter below faulty?

I can't say for sure but I am reasonably confident that you need credit on your account to use the value packs.

What happens when you do have credit?

When its the TalkTextData Value Pack i havent needed credit to make calls, use data, or send sms messages. I'm not really willing to topup again with telecom to find out if its different with the Talk Value Pack, i'm of the belief if you purchase 40 minutes of calling then your account balance shouldnt matter..

Hi there - as per the discussion we had via the Telecom Facebook Account where you raised this with us earlier in the day we are investigating this. I've passed your details on to our support team and they will be in touch once they have investigated the issue.

Cheers

Hi Andy, i've ported my number away from Telecom now unfortunately so my complaint regarding the 40 minutes no longer needs to be followed through with...

It appears to be one of the two problems below:

1) I've used all my 40 minutes up and your usage meter is faulty and saying I havent used them.

2) I havent used any of the 40 minutes, and am barred from making toll calls (on prepaid). When I have $0.00 credit on the TalkTextData Value Pack however I was able to make calls, i'm not sure if the TalkValue Pack has a requirement to have more than $0.00 credit?
