Hi guys.

I just purchased the ASUS DSL-N66U ADSL/VDSL Modem Router Duelband Wireless N900, to go with Bigpipe VDSL, but am unable to get anything to work. I've tried looking online for settings and such but no luck.
I'd much appreciate any help, especially if someone has the same set up!

Make sure you use any random username and password. (PPPOE)
Vlan 10
VPI:0, VCI: 100 (usually dont need anyway)
PTM uplink if it asks for that.

I've been unable to find VPI or VCI on the VDSL settings.
All the lights are on on the modem, Aswell as the router page saying I'm connected etc, yet I am unable to connect to any webpage or anything.

Dont worry about that then.
If your settings match next thing to do is ask for a public IP. sometimes CG NAT can confuse modems

I doubt a public IP will help TBH, but it's possible.

I'm afraid that modem is not something I am familiar with, but one of our team might be, so if you send a message through that form in the link above we may be able to help you out. It's also possible the issue isn't your modem. it may be a chorus fault, which our team can look into.

I believe for starters you need to update the firmware on it, then it is a simple matter of configuring:

PPPoE
Username: anything (not blank)
Password: anything (not blank)
Service: Leave this blank.
VPI: 0, VCI: 110
VLAN: 10

I have just bought a Asus RT-AC68U and have updated to the latest asuswrt-merlin (community firmware). I see no option for VLAN, VPI or VCI. I do have internet though, just nowhere near the stated 200/200 - maybe 90/40 at best.

@wiifm69 Try with your computer set to PPPoE connected directly to the ONT. It's not uncommon for routers to be unable to handle high speeds.

Re: PPP username/password. Set them both to "Bigpipe". Special characters can cause issues.

Many modems don't require (or have options for) VPI/VCI when used for VDSL

Hey @Lorenceo,

Yeah I think that is what I have done currently, and the router is fairly new, dual core ARM, so I would easily expect it to handle 200/200 UFB. Here are the system stats for a recent speedtest:

Fancy router or not, it should be ruled out as a potential cause. In addition to underpowered/misbehaving routers, other common causes of "low" speeds on UFB include: Testing over wireless, 100Mb port somewhere along the line on a >100Mb plan, underpowered computers struggling with Flash on speedtest.net.

90/40Mbps to me seems an odd number. Doesn't align close enough to other speed profiles LFCs offer.

At risk of taking this thread off topic, you should probably get in touch with Bigpipe's support team if you're having trouble with your connection.
